How You Can Make a Difference

There are more than 10,000 Veterans of our nation’s Armed Services living on the streets and in Los Angeles area shelters.

Being alone on the streets is difficult enough, but this can be especially difficult during the holidays. Many of us take it for granted that this time will be spent with family around the dinner table, enjoying hot meals and sharing memories.

But the reality for many of our Veterans is quite different and our goal this year is to change that, to make a difference.

And you can help.

We are seeking to provide a traditional hot meal, a Christmas stocking and, if generosity permits, a small gift or two for each Veteran. This would include essential items that would seem to belong on a grocery list, not a Christmas list: toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream, razors, deodorant, shampoo, body wash and maybe a small shaving kit to keep these items in. With your support, maybe a jacket, gloves, a scarf or hat to help keep the cold of winter at bay.

You can help make a difference with a generous donation in any amount. You can also help with gift cards or gifts in kind. You can even volunteer your time.

Your contribution will help share the Spirit of Christmas with a Veteran who might otherwise be hungry and alone this Christmas season.
